Dana's Statement on Obama's Amnesty Plan

11/21/2014

President Obama’s amnesty initiative is an arrogant abuse of power in pursuit of a policy that will be harmful to the American people, especially those Americans at the lower end of the income scale.

The President proclaimed his compassion for the illegal immigrants but clearly has no compassion to the impact on Americans.  Illegal immigrants have already taken jobs and bid down wages of Americans struggling to make ends meet, or get entry level jobs.  Giving 5 million illegals work permits and legal status is detrimental to American workers, even worse it will bring tens of millions more illegals across our borders knowing if they wait long enough they will be given legalization.

President Obama’s amnesty plans are a heartless betrayal of low income Americans and will be felt in Black and Mexican American neighborhoods.

Further, the President is moving forward based on actions that he himself, has on numerous occasions described as inconsistent  with our laws and Constitution.  This breakdown of respect for law and order to give amnesty to people who have come here illegally is taking America in an ominous direction.  It is more fitting for a land run by kings or criminals than the United States of America.

President's Obama plan is NOT and Amnesty plan.. If you start your position with an "inaccuracy" then that makes your entire statement inaccurate. Amnesty means a "full pardon".. and that is NOT what is being proposed.

"Illegal immigrants have already taken jobs and bid down wages of Americans struggling to make ends meet, or get entry level jobs."

Not true... I have seen "Legal" immigrants take away American jobs, especially in the High Tech business.. but at the low end, at today's very low Minimum Wages, you can't get "real" Americans to do the hard work that is necessary for many businesses for the "cooly" wages that are being offered. Many farmers can't afford to pay "living" wages to Americans so they only way they stay in business is by hiring "migrants".. legal or illegal... For an American to survive on an entry level job he must accept Food Stamps and Medicaid for his kids and many find it undignified to do so... so they beg, borrow and work under the table somewhere to make ends meet... Increase the Minimum Wage to a "Living Wage" and you will see many Mexicans heading back over the border.

Vlad- you are so very wrong on the points you make, it's not even funny. Take your living wage fallacy and go away. Most economists say that an increase to $17 or higher per hour will kill the very jobs we want to save.
