As a senior member of the House Science Committee, Dana is commited to a better tomorrow through technology and freedom.
Over the years Rep. Rohrabacher has led the fight to protect America's patent system. Time and again, multi-national corporations have used their power and influence to gut America's patent system, which historically has been the strongest in the world. On repeated occasions, Dana played a leading role in defeating legislation which would have undermined the rights of American inventors, thus undermining America's ability to beat world competition through the creative genius of our inventors.
Supporting a strong patent system is not only looking out for the little guy but also looking out for the U.S.A.
Rep. Rohrabacher has been a voice of reason concerning the so-called man-made "global warming crisis." He has pointed out the many changes in global temperature in the past, as well as the changes on Jupiter and Mars to suggest that cycles in climate are a product of solar and other natural causes, and not advances in human technology. An increasing number of scientists, many of them prominent PhDs, have voiced their skepticism of this man-made climate change theory.
On the House Science Committee, Dana has backed research and development of new energy systems that would protect human health and free America from dependency on foreign sources. His efforts have pushed the envelope on the utilization of solar power. He is Congress's most vocal proponent for a new type of nuclear reactor - The High Temperature Gas Cooled Reactor, which is dramatically safer and leaves no waste that can be converted into nuclear weapons.
Dana has a strong right to life voting record. He voted for stem cell research on embryos that have not been implanted in a woman's body and otherwise be thrown away.
Dana's two major priorities have been more energy and clean for the American people.
